2024 Sawaya Summer Trials

Owner Mel Sawaya evaluates a wide range of new cultivars to see which are highlights and is joined by more than 300 retailers, growers, brokers, trade media, and breeders each year for evaluations. Plants are grown with minimal extra care as possible — just water and a bit of fertilizer to mimic realistic conditions. This helps evaluators to know if the variety is a success in their greenhouse or retail programs.
