2024 University of Minnesota Master Garden Trial
Each July, the University of Minnesota West Central Research and Outreach Center, Morris, MN, hosts Horticulture Night as a way to showcase the beauty of our garden to consumers, Master Gardeners, home owners, flower enthusiasts, and plant breeders. We typically have between 1,500-2,000 in attendance. Our 2024 event is scheduled for July 25 from 4-8pm, which is at the peak of our annual growing season.
Several hands-on horticulture demonstrations and presentations are scheduled throughout the evening, along with tours and educational booths. Horticulture Night is free and open to the public. Of special interest is our Consumer Voting for Favorite Annuals - attendees to Horticulture Night will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite annual flowers during the event. The results will be part of our annual flower report, which comes out in October/November.
While you are always welcome to visit the Horticulture Display Garden, we extend a special invitation for you to attend Horticulture Night. If you'd like a personal tour or the opportunity to visit with horticulture staff, please let me know and I'd be more than happy to make arrangements. Also, if it works to visit our garden at a different time of year, that works too!
